Join SALT Textiles for an exploration of natural dyes using autumnal plant and food waste.
Over the evening you’ll gain practical insight into the slow processes used in dyeing your own fabrics, experiencing how slow methods of making sit in relation to today’s current fast-fashion culture.
You’ll learn about the basics of natural dyeing - including natural fibres, non-toxic mordants, how to create natural dyes at home and bundle dyeing, a technique creating psychedelic colours.
There will be 1:1 guidance with Jordan, founder of SALT, delicious tea and snacks from HARA and you’ll take home your own naturally dyed samples, to inspire and continue your practice.
Founded by Jordan Storm Louise, SALT Textiles is a multidisciplinary project exploring conscious materials and slow processes.
Through materials SALT questions our relationship with objects; how they are made, how they are used and our respect for the processes behind them.
